AIBPROF Bursary

Here is a bursary that covers any field of study for both undergraduate and postgraduate studies. The Athlone Institute Trust invites deserving students to apply for their Athlone Institute Bursary Project Fund (AIBPROF) program. Applications close on the 29th of February 2024.

About the AIBPROF Bursary

The AIBPROF bursary aims to invest in students who have the capacity to make meaningful contributions to society. The bursary is intended to assist financially disadvantaged students in pursuing university education, giving educational opportunities to historically marginalized individuals in South Africa.

FIELD OF STUDY

The bursary programme is open to students who are pursuing or want to pursue undergraduate/postgraduate qualifications in ANY field of study.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE AIBPROF BURSARY

To qualify for the AIBPROF Bursary you must meet the following requirements:

• Must be a South African citizen.
• Must have completed Matric 
• Must be a member of one of the Athlone Institute Trust member churches (St Stephen’s Anglican Church, Immanuel UR Church, Bethel United Congregational Church (UCC), Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Zions Uniting Reformed Church)
• OR must be a permanent resident in Mbekweni/ Paarl and a member of the church (Western Cape Province)
• Must have a STRONG academic record
• Must be a full-time student at a recognised tertiary institution (University,  University of Technology or TVET College) 
• If currently studying, you must have passed the previous year of study at your tertiary institution.

AIBPROF BURSARY COVERS:

• A portion of tuition fees 
• A portion of registration fees. 

The total value of the bursary awarded will be determined by the AIBPROF.

AIBPROF BURSARY REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

• Certified copy of ID
•  Certified copy of academic record (if currently studying)
• Certified copy of proof of registration
• Certified copy of proof of registration fee payment
• Certified copy of matric certificate/statement
• Certified copy of parents/guardians recent pay slips OR sworn affidavits if they are unemployed
• Testimonial letter by religious leader
• Proof of residence

How to apply for the AIBPROF Bursary - 2024

Interested students can collect the bursary application form from any Athlone Institute Trust member churches or at the Drakenstein Pharmacy. After completing the form, attach all the required documents and deliver the application form to:
