Gauteng Department of Health is inviting all prospective students from disadvantaged communities who are interested in studying Medicine in Cuba for 2024 intake. 

 

2024 Applications to Study Medicine in Cuba

Background of the programme:

This initiative by the Gauteng Department of Health aligns with its commitment to improving the health status of the population and providing equitable access to quality healthcare. By opening up opportunities for aspiring medical professionals from disadvantaged backgrounds, the department is fostering a more inclusive and diverse workforce within the healthcare sector, ultimately contributing to better health outcomes for all communities.

 

Requirements to Study Medicine in Cuba

To qualify for the programme, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Possess a university entrance Grade 12
  • Physical Science: Level 4
  • Mathematics: Level 4
  • Biology/Life Sciences: Level 4
  • English: Level 4
  • Be a South African citizen
  • Be a permanent resident of Gauteng Province
  • Matriculated in the Gauteng province.
  • Must be between the ages of 18 to 30 years.

 

Required Documents to Apply to Study Medicine in Cuba:

  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • Two certified copies of:
    • Birth Certificate
    • Identification documents for both the applicant and their parents/guardians
    • National Senior Certificate (Matriculation certificate)
    • Proof of income (payslips) for both parents or guardians (or sworn affidavits for those without proof of income or the unemployed)
    • Proof of residence validated by the Ward Councillor and Municipality Bill.

How to apply to Study Medicine in Cuba

Applications to study Medicine in Cuba are done by filling an application form. Application forms can be obtained online or from Gauteng Department of Health facilities and District Health Services Offices. Applications that are not hand delivered will not be considered for admission to the programme.

CLOSING DATE:

The closing date for the 2024 applications to study medicine in Cuba is 30 November 2023. All applications received after this date will not be considered. Applicants who do not hear from the department within three months after the closing date, should accept that their application was unsuccessful.
