About the Eskom University of Technology Bursary

The Eskom University of Technology Bursary seeks to empower underprivileged communities, promote academic success, and solve critical skills gaps in the energy. The bursary program's goal is to draw and support deserving students from underprivileged backgrounds, giving them the skills and real-world experience they need to potentially enter Eskom's workforce. It concentrates on subjects that are essential to the company's operations; this focused strategy guarantees a consistent flow of graduates possessing the specific knowledge required to maintain the infrastructure supporting power generation and distribution.

FIELD OF STUDY

The bursary programme is open to students who want to pursue an undergraduate qualification in the following fields:

• Diploma Chemical Engineering
• Diploma Electrical Engineering- Heavy Current
• Diploma Electrical Engineering - Light Current
• Diploma Mechanical Engineering 

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ESKOM UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY BURSARY

To qualify for the Eskom University of Technology Bursary you must meet the following requirements:

• Must be a South African citizen.
• Must have completed Matric in 2023.
• Must intend to study or accepted to study at a South African accredited University of Technology
• Must intend to study or accepted to study one of the above listed undergraduate qualifications.
• Must have achieved a minimum of Level 4 in English for Matric final examinations
• Must have achieved a minimum of Level 4 in Pure Maths for Matric final examinations
• Must have achieved a minimum of Level 4 in Physical Sciences for Matric final examinations
• Must NOT be a recipient of any other funding 
• Must NOT be registered at any tertiary institution.

• Your certified Matric statement
• Proof of acceptance at a University of Technology

To apply for the Eskom University of Technology Bursary for the 2024 academic year, you need to visit the Eskom application site HERE, Then click on the "continue to apply" tab. You will be prompted to create a profile before proceeding with the application. After creating your account continue with the bursary application.
