ETDP SETA Bursary

The ETDP SETA invites qualifying unemployed students to apply for their bursary programme for the 2024 academic year to pursue studies at institutions of higher learning. Interested students have until the 16th of February 2024 to email their bursary applications.

About the ETDP SETA Bursary

The purpose of the EDTP SETA Bursary is to support and encourage the provision of education, training, and development in order to improve the sector's skill set and help create job opportunities. They aim to fund previously disadvantaged individuals in South Africa.

FIELD OF STUDY

The bursary programme is open to students who want to pursue or are pursuing a undergraduate/postgraduate qualification in the following fields: 

Degree (NQF Level 7):

• BA
• BSc 
• BCom
• Public Admin
• ICT
• Business Management
• Occupational Therapy

Professional Degree (NQF Level 8):

• B.Ed.
• B.Ed. (Hons)
• BA (Hons)
• B.Sc. (Hons)
• B.Com (Hons)
• Public Admin(Hons)
• ICT(Hons)
• Business Management (Hons)
• Occupational Therapy (Hons)

Post Graduate Certificate (NQF Level 6):

• PGCE

Diploma (NQF Level 6):

• Any field of study

Advanced Diploma (NQF Level 7):

• Any field of study

Higher Certificate (NQF Level 5): 

• Any field of study

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ETDP SETA BURSARY

To qualify for the ETDP SETA Bursary you must meet the following requirements:

• Must be a South African citizen
• Must be unemployed
• Must have completed Matric and intending to pursue/pursuing studies at institutions of higher learning during the 2024 academic year.
• Must be currently accepted or registered at institutions of higher learning (Public and Accredited Private Universities, Universities of Technology, Public and Private Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Colleges)
• Must require funding for the 2024 academic year.
• Must not have any existing bursary linked to your name.

ETDP SETA BURSARY COVERS:

• Tuition Fees
• Accommodation
• Learning material (Books, stationery, laptop)

NB: For students residing at university/college owned accommodation, meal allowance is included as part of the accommodation fees and for students residing at university/college accredited private accommodation, meal allowance will be paid directly to the students.

ETDP SETA BURSARY REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

• Acceptance letter from institution and/or proof of registration.
• Certified copy of ID document
• Statement of results/academic record (If currently studying)
• One page letter of motivation, indicating why the ETDP SETA should award you a bursary
• Certified copy of Matric results OR highest qualification.

Certified copies must not be older than SIX months.

To apply for the ETDP SETA Bursary, interested students can download the application form HERE. After completing the form, submit the application form and all the required documents via email by Province based on the location of institution that issued the letter of acceptance or registration.
