FASSET (Finance and Accounting Services Sector Education and Training Authority) is inviting unemployed students to apply for their bursary program for the 2024 academic year.  Interested students have until the 15th of February 2024 to submit their emailed applications.

About the FASSET Bursary

The FASSET bursary aims to support the transformation of South Africa’s financial, accounting and business industry by providing individuals with funding to pursue their studies in higher learning institutions. The bursary program allows students to gain the necessary skills and qualifications to secure job opportunities in the finance and accounting industry. 

 

FIELD OF STUDY

The bursary programme is open to students who are pursuing an undergraduate qualification in the following fields: 

University / University of Technology 

  • Economic Management Sciences
  • Auditing
  • Taxation
  • Accounting Sciences.
  • Information Technology (IT)

TVET College

  • Business Studies stream
  • Information Technology (IT)

 

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE FASSET BURSARY

To qualify for the FASSET Bursary you must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be a South African citizen
  • Must be unemployed 
  • Must have completed grade 12
  • Must have a total household income of less than R660 000 per annum 
  • Must be studying/ registered to study towards a qualification in one of the fields listed above, in 2024
  • Must be studying or registered to study at an accredited South African University/University of Technology or TVET College 

 

FASSET BURSARY COVERS:

  • Tuition Fees
  • Textbooks 
  • Accommodation 
  • Learners Allowances
  • Meal Allowances

Note: For University/University of Technology the bursary amount is capped at R100 000 per student, for TVET college the bursary amount is capped at R40 000 per student. 

 

FASSET BURSARY REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

  • Certified ID Copy of applicant
  • Certified ID copies of parents/guardians
  • Certified copy of matric certificate or statement
  • Full academic record
  • Proof of household income (pay slips of parents/guardians or affidavit if unemployed)
  • If parents/guardians are deceased, submit affidavits.
  • Proof of registration from the University/ University of Technology or TVET College (stamped/signed)
  • Proof of Residence

After downloading the relevant form, fill in and submit the completed application along with the required documents via email to the following email addresses:

CLOSING DATE:

The closing date for the FASSET Bursary is the 15th of February 2024. Late and incomplete applications will not be accepted. Should you not receive any communication from FASSET by the 30th of April 2024 please consider your application unsuccessful.
