Institute of Information Technology Professionals South Africa (IITPSA) is inviting tech students to apply for their bursary programme for the 2025 academic year. The applications will remain open until 30 September 2024.

About the IITPSA Bursary:

The IITPSA bursary programme recognizes the critical need for more skilled professionals in information and communication technology (ICT) fields. By providing financial aid to talented students, they aim to cultivate a new generation of tech experts who can drive innovation and growth within the South African ICT industry. The bursary targets high-achieving South African students who demonstrate both academic ability and financial need.  Their financial support allows these deserving individuals to pursue ICT degrees, removing a significant barrier to entering this high-demand field.

FIELD OF STUDY

The bursary programme is open to students who want to pursue or are pursuing an undergraduate qualification in the following fields:

• BSc Computer Science
• BSc Information Systems
• BSc Applied Computing
• BCom Information Systems
• BCom Informatics

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE IITPSA BURSARY

To qualify for the IITPSA Bursary, you must meet the following requirements:

• You must be a South African citizen.
• You must be studying or intend to study one of the above mentioned 3 year undergraduate qualifications
• You must have achieved an average of 65% and above in the latest examinations.
• You must be accepted/registered for full-time undergraduate studies.
• You must meet the entry requirements in the fields of commerce, science, engineering, mathematics and technology at a registered public university.
• You will be required to participate in a formal assessment process including but not limited to Psychometric evaluation and an interview.
• Preference will be given to students that have participated and excelled in The Computer Programming Olympiad.

IITPSA BURSARY COVERS THE FOLLOWING EXPENSES: 

• Full tuition fees
• Registration fees
• Exam fees
• University administered accommodation
• Textbooks

IITPSA BURSARY REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

• Certified copy of your ID document.
• Certified copy of your latest examination results OR academic record
• Certified copy of matric certificate 
• Acceptance letter OR proof of registration
• Proof of parents or guardians household income (latest payslips if employed/ affidavit if unemployed, etc.)

3. You will be required to enter your email address
4. Create an account
5. Login and begin your online application

CLOSING DATE:

The closing date for the IITPSA Bursary for the 2025 academic year is the 30th of September 2024. Please note that the bursary will be awarded for one academic year at a time. Renewal for the second / third academic year will be dependent on satisfactory academic performance in the previous year of study and will not cover repeat subjects / modules.
