INSETA is calling all unemployed and employed youth of South Africa to apply for the ISSF (Insurance Sector Student Fund) Bursary for 2024 academic year. Applicants should be studying or have a desire to study a course related to insurance sector.

About INSETA ISSF Bursary
Insurance Sector Student Fund (ISSF) Bursary is a financial aid program designed to support students pursuing careers in the insurance sector in South Africa. It is a collaborative effort between INSETA and the insurance industry, aiming to address the skills gap in the sector and promote inclusivity and diversity.
Its primary objective is to provide financial assistance to students from disadvantaged backgrounds who demonstrate academic potential and a strong interest in pursuing careers in insurance. The bursary also aims to increase the number of black, female, and disabled individuals working in the insurance sector.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE INSETA ISSF BURSARY
To qualify for the INSETA ISSF Bursary you must meet the following requirements:
You must be a South African citizen
You must have completed Matric or in Matric
You must be unemployed and between the ages of 18 and 35
OR you must be employed (any age)
You must be studying or want to study towards an undergraduate qualification (related to the insurance sector)
You must be studying or want to study at a recognised and accredited institution of higher learning in South Africa (University or University of Technology)
Priority will be granted to courses in the Insurance and related sectors.
INSETA ISSF BURSARY COVERS THE FOLLOWING:
The bursary covers the following for unemployed Youth
Tuition fees in full.
Textbooks
Accommodation
Meals.
Tech devices like laptop or data.
A monthly allowance.
The bursary covers the following for Employed Youth
Tuition Fees
Book allowance
The bursaries are awarded on a sliding scale.

Your certified ID Document
Certified copy of grade 12 latest results, if currently in Matric
Certified copy of Matric certificate, if completed Matric
A copy of acceptance letter from an accredited institution.
Certified copy of the latest academic transcript or record on official letterhead.
Tuition Fee/Course Quotation
Accommodation Fee/Quotation
Proof of Registration (where applicable)
Recent certified ID copy of breadwinner’s; (parents/ guardians)
Death Certificate/Affidavit if deceased or unemployed
Most recent (3) months Banks Statements OR Payslips (both parents/guardian)
SASSA letter/Affidavit of both parents/guardian if grant recipient.
Accommodation Fee/ Course Quotation (on institutions letterhead)
Parents or guardians ID documents/ death certificates/ affidavit if deceased (certified copy)
Parents or guardians 3 months recent payslips/ bank statements (certified copy)

How is INSETA ISSF bursary awarded?
Bursaries are awarded according to academic merit, financial need/affordability of applicants.
Employed applicants are awarded on a sliding scale.
Bursary funds are paid out directly to tertiary institutions and other relevant service providers
Bursary fund monies are ONLY paid out directly to students under exceptional circumstances.
