About the Modikwa Platinum Mine Bursary

The Modikwa Platinum Mine Bursary aims to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and practical experience needed for successful careers in the mining industry by providing them bursaries to further their studies in higher education institutions in South Africa. The bursary program provides a clear pathway for graduates to enter the workforce at Modikwa Platinum Mine or other mining companies. This program  foster the personal and professional development of bursary recipients through mentorship, leadership opportunities and career guidance.

FIELD OF STUDY

The bursary programme is open to students who are pursuing  or want to pursue an undergraduate qualification in the following fields:

• Engineering studies (Electrical, Mechanical, Mining, Industrial, Chemical, Civil, Metallurgy & Rock Engineering)
• Extraction Metallurgy
• Mine Surveying
• Safety Management
• Environmental
• Ventilation
• Ventilation/Occupational Hygiene
• Human Resources Management
• Geology
• Medicine
• Radiography / Radiology
• Social Sciences / Development Studies
• Psychology
• Social Work
• Communication
• Project Management
• Information Technology
• Finance
• Law
• Marketing

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE MODIKWA PLATINUM MINE BURSARY

To qualify for the Modikwa Platinum Mine Bursary you must meet the following requirements:

• Must be a South African citizen
• Must have completed Matric.
• Must be studying or intend to study one of the above mentioned courses.
• Must enrol or currently enrolled at a HET
• Must be studying or want to study towards a Degree at an accredited institution
• Must have a STRONG academic record. 

MODIKWA PLATINUM MINE BURSARY COVERS:

• Full payment of tuition fees
• Payment of meals and accommodation as per the bursary agreement
• Payment of all study books and material 
• Laptop will be issued as per the bursary agreement

MODIKWA PLATINUM MINE BURSARY REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

• Certified copy of South African ID
• Certified copy of Matric certificate/results
• Academic record 
• Proof of registration from the institution for the qualification in the relevant field of study
• Proof of address
• If the applicant is a child of a Modikwa employee, employment letter for the parent is required
