The Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSiRA) is inviting South African students to apply for their 2024 Bursary program. Applicants have until the 31st of January 2024 to submit their emailed applications.

About Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority Bursary

The Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSiRA) Bursary program aims to provide financial assistance to qualified dependents of registered and active security officers, enabling them to access tertiary education in any field at a TVET College. This expands opportunities for upward mobility and promotes personal growth. By supporting children of security officers, the program contributes to the overall well-being and stability of families within the industry.

 

FIELDS COVERED

The bursary program is open to students who want to pursue OR are pursuing undergraduate qualification in ANY field of study. Postgraduate studies are not covered

 

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE PRIVATE SECURITY INDUSTRY REGULATORY AUTHORITY BURSARY

To qualify for the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority Bursary you must meet the following requirements:

The bursary is STRICTLY for PSiRA security officers dependants:

  • The parent/ legal guardian and student must be a South African Citizen
  • The learner must be between 18 and 35 years old.
  • Parent/legal guardian must be a registered PSiRA security officer.
  • Student must have completed matric.
  • Student must be enrolled with an accredited higher learning institution
  • Bursaries will be awarded for students from the following provinces (Free State, Gauteng, KwaZulu Natal, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, Eastern Cape and Western Cape)

 

PRIVATE SECURITY INDUSTRY REGULATORY AUTHORITY BURSARY COVERS:

  • Tuition fees

NOTE: Maximum cover for TVET students is R15 000 per year/per learner 
Maximum cover for undergraduate degree/diploma is R40 000 per year/per learner 
 

 

PRIVATE SECURITY INDUSTRY REGULATORY AUTHORITY BURSARY REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

  • Certified ID Document of student
  • Certified ID document of PSiRA registered parent/legal guardian
  • Certified copy of Matric certificate
  • Proof of registration at a TVET college or university
  • Parent or legal guardians latest payslip
  • Parent or legal guardians proof of PSiRA registration
  • Proof of residence in one of the above regions

  1. Download the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority Bursary Form HERE
  2. Complete the bursary application form and attach supporting documents
  3. Scan the completed form and the documents into one pdf file
  4. Email the form to the following email address: [email protected]

NOTE: The application must be submitted by the student not the parent. The legal parent/guardian PSiRA registration number must be included in the email.

Certified documents should not be older than three months

 

CLOSING DATE:
