Rand Refinery Bursary is now accepting applications for 2024 academic year. applicants have until 15 December 2023 to submit their funding applications.

About Rand Refinery Bursary 

The Rand Refinery, a South African leader in precious metals refining, is committed to not only being an industry leader but also a leader in social upliftment. One of the ways they do this is through their Rand Refinery Bursary Programme. This program provides financial assistance and mentorship to talented South African students who are pursuing studies in fields relevant to the refinery's operations.

 

The bursary programme is open to students who want to pursue OR are pursuing undergraduate studies in the following fields:

  • Analytical Chemistry
  • Chemical Process Engineering
  • Commercial Studies (including Finance, Supply Chain, Law, IT and more)
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Environmental Engineering
  • Industrial Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Metallurgical Engineering
  • Quality Management Systems
  • Robotics and Advanced Control

 

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE RAND REFINERY BURSARY

To qualify for the Rand Refinery Bursary you must meet the following requirements:

  • You must be a South African citizen
  • You must be between 18 and 25 years old
  • You must have completed Matric
  • You must be studying towards an undergraduate qualification, within one of the fields of study listed above
  • You must be in your first, second or third year of study
  • You must be studying at a recognised and accredited institution of higher learning in South Africa (University or University of Technology)
  • You must have achieved a minimum overall average of 70%, in your first year of study

 

RAND REFINERY BURSARY COVERS THE FOLLOWING:

  • Tuition fees,
  • Textbooks and other study materials
  • Laptops
  • Accommodation
  • Meals
  • A monthly stipend
  • Social Support

 

RAND REFINERY BURSARY REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

  • Your certified ID Document
  • Certified copy of  Matric latest results, if currently in Matric
  • Certified copy of Matric certificate, if completed Matric
  • Certified copy of Full academic record, if currently studying at tertiary level
  • Proof of tertiary application and/or registration
  • Fee statement
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Certified copies of parents or guardians ID documents
