Looking for a bursary to fund your undergraduate or Honours qualification? The South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP) is inviting students to apply for their Student Bursary award, for the 2024 academic year.

About the SACAP Bursary

The SACAP Bursary program seeks to ensure the long-term sustainability of the architectural profession while simultaneously bridging the financial gap for students pursuing architectural studies and fostering a more skilled, inclusive, and diverse architectural workforce for South Africa’s future. The aim of the SACAP is to invest  in the next generation of professionals, increase the representation of historically underrepresented groups in the architectural profession and lastly provide support to deserving students who have the potential to make major contributions in the architectural industry.

 

FIELD OF STUDY

The bursary programme is open to students who are pursuing an undergraduate/postgraduate qualification in the following field:

  • Architectural studies 

 

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SACAP BURSARY

To qualify for the SACAP Bursary you must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be a South African citizen
  • Must have completed Matric
  • Must pursuing an architecture qualification 
  • Must be entering your 2nd, 3rd, 4th year of study or Honours in 2024
  • Must be enrolled at an accredited Architectural Learning institution in South Africa
  • Applicants without a disability must NOT have a combined household income of more than R350 000 per annum 
  • Applicants with a disability must NOT have a combined household income of more than R600 000 per annum 
  • Priority will be given to applicants from designated groups.

 

SACAP BURSARY REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

  • One-page motivational letter stating your reason for applying for student funding
  • Certified copy of your valid Matric certificate
  •  Certified copy of the latest academic results and full details of academic record
  • Certified copy of your South African Identity Document
  • Proof of income (3 months’ payslip) of the Applicant/Parent/Guardian or an affidavit if Parent/Guardian is unemployed
  • Three months’ bank statement of the Applicant/Parent/Guardian.

 

How to apply for the SACAP Bursary - 2024

The SACAP Bursary does not have an application form, applicants must submit the above documents to apply. Applications can be submitted by hand, post or email.

CLOSING DATE:
