Sage South Africa has officially opened applications for their bursary programme for the 2025 academic year. If you are in matric or already in university and are looking for a bursary to fund your studies, this might be the perfect opportunity for you. The Sage bursary Applications close on the 30th of November 2024. 

 

Sage Bursary - 2025 Applications

About the Sage Bursary:

The Sage Bursary programme aims to empower and support the success of previously disadvantaged individuals, especially individuals with disabilities. The bursary covers these deserving students through their pursuit of tertiary education, and aids them in acquiring skills and knowledge that can be used to further themselves and their communities. The Sage External Bursary Programme aims to financially support South African students by covering essential expenses to reduce the financial burden on students and their families, allowing them to focus on their studies.

 

FIELD OF STUDY

The bursary programme is open to students who want to pursue or are pursuing an undergraduate qualification in the following fields:

  • Computer Science / Engineering and Information Technology,
  • Bachelor of Commerce (specialising in Accounting and Finance).

NBStudents with disabilities will be considered for all study programmes (undergraduate and postgraduate) 

 

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SAGE  BURSARY

To qualify for the Sage Bursary, you must meet the following requirements:

  • You must be in Matric or passed Matric
  • You must be a South African citizen.
  • You must be a previously disadvantaged individual OR you must be living with a disability
  • You must have applied and been accepted OR currently studying at a public higher education institution. 
  • If you are currently in Grade 12, you must have an average of 75% and above in Mathematics and Physical Science. 
  • If you are currently studying at university, you must be obtaining a consistent minimum average of 65% (an exception will be made for people living with disabilities for a lower rate but not below the expected pass rate) 
  • Your family income should be from R350 000 to R500 000 per annum, however if your family income is below this bracket and you have been rejected by NSFAS, you may apply for Sage Bursary funding. 

 

SAGE BURSARY COVERS THE FOLLOWING EXPENSES: 

  • Tuition
  • Residence / private accommodation
  • Stationery and books.
  • The bursary will also cover historical debt. 

 

SAGE BURSARY REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

  • Certified Copy of your ID document.
  • Certified copy of your Grade 11 final results and latest Matric results (if in Matric)
  • Certified copy of your latest full academic record (If a university student)
  • Proof of parents or guardians household income (latest payslips if employed/ affidavit if unemployed, etc.)
  • Proof of Disability

To apply for the Sage Bursary, interested students can do so by following these easy steps:

  1. Visit the Study Trust application platform HERE
  2. Read through the application rules and instructions.
  3. Click on the "APPLY HERE" tab
  4. You will be required to enter your email address
  5. Create an account
  6. Login and begin your online application

 

CLOSING DATE:

The closing date for the Sage Bursary for the 2025 academic year is the 30th of November 2024. Should you not receive feedback from the Sage bursary, consider your application unsuccessful. For more information visit the Study Trust website.
