SANZAF Zakah Bursary is open for 2024 applications. Applicants have until 31 January to submit their applications online. This is a fantastic opportunity for students who are looking for a bursary that funds all fields of study.

SANZAF, the South African National Zakah Fund, embodies the Islamic principle of Zakah, emphasizing social responsibility and uplifting the underprivileged. The SANZAF Bursary goes beyond simply covering tuition fees. It's a comprehensive support system that empowers recipients to excel in their studies and navigate the challenges of university life. REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SANZAF ZAKAH BURSARY

To qualify for the SANZAF Zakah Bursary you must meet the following requirements:

  • You must be a South African citizen a foreign national with a study permit
  • You must be currently in matric
  • You must be currently studying at a tertiary institution and sponsored by a family member or yourself last year
  • You must be currently studying at a tertiary institution and sponsored by SANZAF last year
  • You must stay in the province of which you are applying
  • You must be financially needy
  • You must have applied for NSFAS before applying for this bursary
  • You must have a solid academic record if you are a university student
  • You must be studying or want to study towards an undergraduate qualification in any field
  • You must be studying or want to study at a recognised University or University of Technology.
  • You must be from a disadvantaged background

 

SANZAF ZAKAH BURSARY COVERS:

  • Tuition fees
  • Textbooks and other study materials
  • Accommodation
  • living expenses
     

SANZAF ZAKAH BURSARY REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

LEARNERS IN MATRIC MUST SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS:

  • Certified ID document or study permit if a foreign national
  • Certified latest Matric results
  • Motivational letter explaining why you deserve the bursary
  • Testimonial from your school
  • Proof of household income (Parents/ guardians/ spouse/ your own): latest payslips if employed, affidavit if unemployed)

UNIVERSITY STUDENTS PREVIOSLY NOT FUNDED BY SANZAF ZAKAH MUST SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS:

  • Certified ID document or study permit if a foreign national
  • Certified Matric Certificate
  • Full tertiary academic record
  • Motivational letter explaining why you deserve the bursary
  • Testimonial from your University, Imaam or Religious leader
  • Proof of household income (Parents/ guardians/ spouse/ your own): latest payslips if employed, affidavit if unemployed)

UNIVERSITY STUDENTS PREVIOSLY FUNDED BY SANZAF ZAKAH MUST SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS:

  • Certified Matric Certificate
  • 2023 mid year tertiary results
  • Proof of household income (Parents/ guardians/ spouse/ your own): latest payslips if employed, affidavit if unemployed)

 

How to apply for the SANZAF Zakah Bursary - 2024

 Applying for the SANZAF Zakah Bursary is straightforward. All applications should be submitted online on their website. Click on the following link to apply:  https://www.sanzaf.org.za/what-we-do/sanzaf-bursary-program.html

You will be required to fill in your personal details and to attach supporting documents. Once you have completed the online form click on the "Submit Application" tab. All applications should be sent online. Applications not submitted online will not be considered for funding.
