The South African Veterinary Foundation (SAVF) in collaboration with Lakato Veterinary Wholesalers are inviting students to apply for their bursary programme for the 2025 academic year. Applications are open until the 30th of April 2024.

About the SAVF Bursary

The South African Veterinary Foundation has provided financial support to a veterinary student in their fourth and fifth year of study, since 1999. Over the years, the foundation has seen a continuous demand for student bursaries due to rising veterinary science education prices and an increase in the number of financially disadvantaged students. The bursary is awarded to students who are passionate about Veterinary and have strong academic records and have an active participation in camps events, and student life activities. 

FIELD OF STUDY

The bursary programme is open to students who are pursuing an undergraduate qualification in the following field:

• BVSc (Veterinary Science).
   

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SAVF BURSARY

To qualify for the SAVF Bursary, you must meet the following requirements:

• You must currently be studying at the University of Pretoria.
• You must currently be studying a for a BVSc degree (Veterinary Science).
• You must be in your 4th or 5th year of study for a BVSc degree.
• You must have achieved above 60% in your examinations.
• You must be actively involved in student life e.g. sport, cultural activities etc. 
• You must be in need of financial assistance.

• Full academic transcripts
• Proof of current student debt

How to apply for the SAVF Bursary - 2025

Applications for the SAVF Bursary programme must be submitted online. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to apply.

3. Answer the pre qualifying questions. 
4. Enter your personal information and upload the required documents. 
5. Complete the quiz (multiple questions)
6. Submit your application.

CLOSING DATE:

The closing date for the SAVF Bursary for the 2025 academic is the 30th of April 2024. Late and incomplete applications will not be considered. For more information visit the SAVF website.
