About the Standard Bank Group Bursary Fund

The Standard Bank Group Bursary Fund is a financial aid programme offered by Standard Bank to assist South African students with funding for their tertiary education. The goal of the Standard Bank Group Bursary Programme is to develop academic achievement and mould the next wave of African leaders. The bursary is available for undergraduate students in their second, third or final year, as well as postgraduate students who aim to pursue postgraduate studies up to master's level. 

FIELD OF STUDY

The bursary programme is open to students who want to pursue or are pursuing an undergraduate or postgraduate qualification in the following fields:

• Agriculture
• Commerce
• Engineering
• Mathematics
• Science (Actuarial, Analytics, Business, Computer, Data, Information)
• Statistics
• Technology (Financial, Information)
• Behavioural Economics (Economics, Behavioural Finance, Sociology, Psychology, Neuroscience)
   

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE STANDARD BANK GROUP BURSARY FUND

To qualify for the Standard Bank Group Bursary Fund, you must meet the following requirements:

• You must be a South African citizen.
• You must have achieved an average of 65% and above in the latest examinations.
• You must be registered full-time for undergraduate/postgraduate studies.
• You must be pursuing or want to pursue your postgraduate studies up to Master’s level. 
• Meet the admission requirements of your university if applying for a post-graduate bursary.
• Funding for undergraduate studies starts from 2nd year onwards 
• You must be in financial need. 

NB: Applicants will be required to participate in a formal assessment process including but not limited to Psychometric evaluation and an interview.

STANDARD BANK GROUP BURSARY COVERS: 

• Tuition 
• Accommodation (in a university residence or in private accommodation- private accommodation costs will be subject to certain limits, which will be  explained to successful candidates upon the provisional bursary allocation) 
• Meals
• Books and other study materials.
• A laptop
• A monthly stipend to cover other living costs.
• Transport between home and campus (will be issued 4 times a year at the cost of a bus ticket)

STANDARD BANK GROUP BURSARY REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

• Certified copy of ID
• Proof of all academic results to date (Gr 12 Matric certificate and full tertiary academic record)
• Proof of combined household income
