Vaal University of Technology is a tertiary institution in South Africa. It attracts students from all over the country. It is one of the largest residential Universities of Technology, with about 25,000 students, 300 programs, all primarily taught in English. The campus and facilities are conducive to learning, research, recreation and sport, art and culture, and community service.

VUT CAMPUSES
VUT has four campuses. The Vanderbijlpark Campus is situated on 4.6 hectares of land with a state-of-the-art Library, lecture halls, laboratories, auditoriums and offices. Three satellite campuses extend the academic business of the university into Secunda and Kempton Park (also in Gauteng) and Upington, in the Northern Cape. An extension to the main campus is located in Educity, Sebokeng, which is being developed into a Science and Technology Park and the seat of the southern Gauteng regional Innovation Hub.

THINGS TO CONSIDER BEFORE APPLYING AT VUT
First, you have to make sure that you meet the admission requirements of the programme of your choice. Admission requirements can be found under the courses and programmes. You should meet both VUT minimum requirements and required APS. APS and minimum requirements go hand in hand.
It is used by Universities to determine whether you qualify for admission to their courses.

GENERAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
The minimum entrance requirements for admission to studies at the Vaal University of Technology is a Senior Certificate, national senior certificate or equivalent qualification. A pass mark is required in at least one of the languages of instruction (English) of the University at Higher Grade (HG) or Standard Grade (SG). Or 50% pass mark in English

If an applicant offers an N3 qualification as an entrance requirement, it should comprise at least four subjects, plus pass marks in two official languages (of which one must be English), at least at Senior Certificate level (SG).

Additional requirements are specified for each course/ instructional programme. Prospective students must please note that in the faculties of Engineering, Applied and Computer Sciences the minimum required symbol for Mathematics, Physical Science, and in certain cases English, are HG (E) or SG(C).

South African applicants will need an ID number. Foreign applicants will need their passport number.

VUT application fee is R100 and is non refundable. You can get valid banking details in the vut website to make payment.

VUT OPENING AND CLOSING DATE
Note that Applications for the academic year 2023 are open. All applicants must apply online using the VUT application system iEnabler. Closing date: 30 September 2022.

APPLICATION PROCESS

STEP BY STEP GUIDE TO APPLY AT VUT ONLINE

Step 1: Click here to apply, accept the application rules and click "continue"

Step 2: Capture your biographical information and click "next" to proceed with your application;

Step 3: Capture results details then add subjects and click "next";

Step 4: Capture educational institution detail and click "next";

Step 5: Capture academic application details (choose 2 choices/programmes you wish to apply for), click on "add qualification" and thereafter click "next";

Step 6: Verify/Check your application details then click "continue";

Step 7: Create your 5 digit PIN (e.g 24689), click "I accept"(twice) checkbox thereafter click "Submit Application";

Step 8: Upload your documents, select "yes" on the dropdown list if all your documents are ready to be uploaded and then click "next";

Step 9: Click "Load/View Document" >> "Upload document" >> "Choose/Browse file" go to the folder where your documents are stored, choose the relevant document and click "save";

Step 10: Once all documents have been uploaded click "complete upload";

Step 11: Confirmation Page, end of application

VUT APPLICATION OUTCOMES
Application outcomes should be monitored on the Application status on the VUT website to determine progress of the application.
How To Track Your Application

Go to VUT's website
Click on 'Check Your 2021 Application Status'
Enter your Student, Passport or ID Number
You will now be able to see your application status. Application outcomes will be reflected on the website through an update on the “Status” of the application. SMS messages will also be sent to successful applicants and statuses will be updated regularly.
