CPUT offers a wide range of courses across various faculties, catering to students from all backgrounds and career aspirations. 2026 CPUT Online Applications Now Open 

CPUT welcomes 2026 applications from current Grade 12 learners who will complete their NSC in 2025, past matriculants with a Senior Certificate (SC) or National Senior Certificate (NSC), graduates, students from other institutions, international students who meet the equivalent qualifications and mature applicants seeking admission through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).

These students can apply for any courses under these faculties; Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment, Faculty of Health and Wellness Sciences, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Informatics and Design, Faculty of Business and Management Sciences and Faculty of Applied Sciences.

 

How to Apply for 2026 at CPUT

1. Visit the CPUT Website

  • Go to the official CPUT website. Make sure you have a stable internet connection and access to a device like a smartphone, tablet, or computer.

2. Access the Online Application Portal

  • On the CPUT homepage, scroll down to “Step 4: Apply” in the application process section.
  • Click on the “Online Application” tab. This will direct you to the online application platform where new and returning applicants can submit their details.

3. Start a New Application

  • Under the “No existing student number” section, click on “Apply Here” to begin your application as a new applicant.
  • You will be asked a few basic questions to determine your application type.
  • Once done, read and accept the application rules by checking the box provided.
  • Click on “Continue” to proceed.

4. Enter Your Personal Details

  • Fill in your biographical information, including full name, date of birth, ID or passport number, nationality, and contact information.
  • Click “Next” to continue.

5. Provide Next of Kin Details

  • Enter the details of a next of kin or emergency contact, such as a parent or guardian.
  • Information required includes name, relationship to you, contact number, and address.
  • Click “Next.”

6. Enter Your Academic Results

  • Provide your school results, including your subjects and the marks you obtained
  • After capturing your results, click “Next.”

7. Enter Educational Institution Details

Fill in information about your high school or previous institution, such as:

  • School name
  • Province
  • Years attended
  • Click “Next.”

8. Choose Your Programmes

  • Under the academic application section:
  • Choose up to two qualifications (your first and second choice programmes).
  • After selecting each qualification, click “Add Qualification.”
  • Once you’ve added your programme choices, click “Next.”

9. Review and Confirm Your Application

  • You will be shown a summary of your entire application.
  • Carefully review each section to ensure all details are correct.
  • Click “Continue” once you’re satisfied.

10. Create Your Student PIN

  • You’ll be asked to create a 5-digit numeric PIN (e.g., 24689). This will be used for future logins, so keep it safe.
  • Accept the terms by ticking the “I accept” boxes twice.
  • Click “Submit Application.”

11. Prepare and Upload Your Documents

  • The system will ask if your supporting documents are ready to be uploaded.
  • From the dropdown list, select “Yes” if your documents are ready, then click “Next.”

Documents to prepare include:

  • Certified copy of your ID or passport
  • Certified copy of your latest school results
  • Proof of residence
  • Any additional documents relevant to your application (e.g., affidavits, certificates)

12. Upload Each Document

  • To upload, click “Load/View Document” > “Upload Document” > “Choose/Browse File.”
  • Navigate to the folder where your documents are stored, select the correct file, and click “Save.”
  • Repeat this step for each required document.

13. Complete the Upload

  • Once all required documents have been uploaded, click “Complete Upload.”
  • The system will verify that everything has been submitted correctly.

14. Application Confirmation

  • After completing the upload process, you will be taken to a confirmation page.
  • This page confirms that your application has been successfully submitted.
  • You may receive an email or SMS confirming receipt of your application.
  • Keep a screenshot or copy of the confirmation page for your records.

15. You're Done!

Your application to CPUT for 2026 has been submitted. You can now wait for further communication from the university regarding your application status.
