AEMFC Bursary

African Exploration Mining and Finance Corporation (AEMFC) is inviting deserving students to apply for their 2024 bursary program. Applicants have until 29 January to submit their emailed applications.

About the AEMFC Bursary

AEMFC wants to develop future leaders in areas that are essential to both their business and the energy industry in South Africa including disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, and mining engineering. The bursary program involves vacation work or hands-on training, giving beneficiaries important job experience and boosting their post-graduation employment prospects. The AEMFC bursary program helps reduce financial responsibilities for deserving students so they can concentrate on their academics rather than worrying about making ends meet. 

FIELD OF STUDY

The bursary programme is open to students who are pursuing an undergraduate qualification in the following fields:

• Electrical Engineering 
• Mechanical Engineering 
• Mining Engineering

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE AEMFC BURSARY

To qualify for the AEMFC Bursary you must meet the following requirements:

• Must be a South African citizen 
• Must between 16 and 25 years of age 
• Must be studying towards a qualification in one of the fields listed above 
• Must be entering SECOND or THIRD year of study.
• Must be studying at a South African accredited University or University of Technology.
• Must demonstrate financial need 
• Must NOT be a recipient of any other funding
• Priority will be given to applicants from the eMalahleni Local Municipality (Mpumalanga)

AEMFC BURSARY COVERS:

• Accommodation 
• Tuition fees
• Books
• Laptop allowance 
• Meals
• Student allowance  

Successful applicants will be given practical training or vacation work during university recess.  

AEMFC BURSARY REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

• Certified copy of South African ID
• Certified copy of 2023 full academic record
• Proof of acceptance/registration for the academic year
• Proof of student accommodation
