About ARMSCOR Bursary

The Armaments Corporation of South Africa (ARMSCOR) in partnership with the defence industry, is offering bursaries to exceptional learners through the Armscor Bursary Scheme. The bursary program aims to provide financial support to students from previously disadvantaged backgrounds to pursue undergraduate degrees in fields critical to the defence industry and to address the shortage of skilled professionals in crucial fields.

FIELDS COVERED

The bursary programme is open to students who are pursuing or want to pursue undergraduate/postgraduate qualifications in the following fields:

• Applied Mathematics
• Aeronautical Engineering
• Biochemistry
• Computer Science
• Chemistry and Physics
• Human Kinetics & Ergonomics Science
• Electronics or Electrical (Light Current) Engineering
• Information Technology
• Industrial Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering
• Material Sciences
• Metallurgy Engineering
• Mechatronics Engineering
• Naval or Marine Engineering

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ARMSCOR BURSARY

To qualify for the ARMSCOR Bursary you must meet the following requirements:

• You must be a South African citizen
• You must have completed Matric OR be in Matric (class of 2024)
• You must be studying or intend to study towards an undergraduate/postgraduate qualification in the above-mentioned fields
• Must be from a previously underprivileged background
• Must be studying, accepted, or registered to study at an accredited tertiary institution within South Africa
• Must have a strong academic record (if currently studying)
• Must have achieved a minimum result of 70% for English in Matric
• Must have achieved a minimum result of 70% for Mathematics in Matric
• Must have achieved a minimum result of 70% for Physical Science in Matric

ARMSCOR BURSARY COVERS:

• Tuition fees
• Textbooks
• Accommodation
• Meals
• Vacation work, if applicable.

ARMSCOR BURSARY REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

Applicants must submit the following certified documents with their application:

• Certified copy of your ID Document
• Certified copy of Matric certificate
• Latest Grade 12 results (if currently in Matric)
• Certified ID copies of parents or legal guardians
• Death certificate if parents are deceased
• Latest Academic Record
• Motivational letter on why you should be selected for this bursary
• Proof of parents’ or legal guardians’ income or affidavit if unemployed
• Proof of registration or acceptance letter
