FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How many choices can I apply for at TUT?

You can apply for up to 5 choices at TUT. However, your first and second choices should be courses you are REALLY interested in and that you meet the admission requirements for. For example if nursing is your passion, then do not put it on the 4th to 10th position. Rather put it on first position to stand a better chance of being admitted.

Can I study nursing at TUT?

Yes, you can study nursing at TUT. The Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) offers a four-year Bachelor of Nursing. The course is accredited by the South African Nursing Council (SANC). Nursing requires the following minimum requirements to be accepted:

  • APS: 25 excluding Life Orientation
  • English: Level 4
  • Mathematics or Technical Mathematics: Level 4
  • Life Sciences: Level 4
  • Physical Sciences:
  • If the APS is between 25 and 29 the applicant will write a TUT potential assessment. The applicant with minimum TUT potential test score of 50% will be eligible for consideration into the programme.
  • The applicant with an APS score of 30 and above will not write the TUT potential assessment test but will automatically be eligible to be selected in the programme

Does TUT offer law courses?

TUT does offer law courses but only offers a three-year Diploma in Law course. Tut currently doesn't offer LLB, BCom law and BA Law. With Diploma in Law, graduates will work in law firms, not necessarily as lawyers or attorneys but as cost consultants and paralegals. This qualification is not a bridging course. If you want to study Law consider other universities in South Africa.

In conclusion, TUT is a great choice for students who are looking for a high-quality education and a variety of course options. The university is also committed to student success and provides a range of support services to help students succeed.
