About the Amazon Recruitment Bursary

The Amazon Recruitment Bursary was started in 2018 by Amazon Development Centre to help students from disadvantaged backgrounds in South Africa. The bursary supports students studying towards a career in Software Development Engineering.

If you’re selected, Amazon will pay for your studies and living expenses. You’ll also take part in a paid internship at Amazon during your summer holidays, where you’ll work on real projects. If you do well, you could even be offered a full-time job at Amazon after you graduate.

This bursary is for students studying:

  • Computer Science
  • Computer Engineering
  • Software Engineering
  • Specialisations in Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning

 

Requirements for the 2026 Amazon Recruitment Bursary

To qualify for the Amazon Recruitment Bursary, you must meet the following criteria:

Citizenship Requirements

  • Must be a South African citizen

Age Restrictions
