About the Cisco Charitable Foundation Trust Bursary programme.
The Cisco Charitable Foundation Trust Bursary Programme is a South African initiative designed to assist students pursuing degrees in IT fields. Inspired by the words of Nelson Mandela "Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world," the program fosters the Cisco Charitable Foundation Trust's commitment to developing and facilitating the skills and knowledge of South Africa's youth.
FIELD OF STUDY
The bursary programme is open to students who want to pursue or are pursuing an undergraduate/postgraduate qualification in the following fields:
- Computer Science
- Computer Engineering
- Software Engineering
- Information Technology
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE CISCO CHARITABLE FOUNDATION TRUST BURSARY PROGRAMME.
To qualify for the Cisco Charitable Foundation Trust bursary programme, you must meet the following requirements:
- You must be a South African citizen.
- You must be in matric or you must have completed matric.
- You must be studying or accepted to study a qualification in one of the above listed fields.
- You must be in your first to fourth year of study in the 2025 academic year
- You must have a strong academic record/results.
- You must be accepted or registered to study at a recognised private or public tertiary institution. i.e. it must be registered with the Department of Education.
- You must demonstrate financial need (You must not have a combined household income that exceeds R350 000 per annum or if you fall in the “missing middle” category it may not exceed R600 000 per annum) .
- First priority will be given to equity students.
NB: Fourth year applications include students who are in BTech – NQF Level 7 & Honours programmes Level 8.
CISCO CHARITABLE FOUNDATION TRUST BURSARY REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:
- Certified copy of applicant's ID
- Certified copy of applicant's Matric certificate and academic record.
- Proof of combined household income
