Ekurhuleni West TVET College Now Open for Second Trimester Applications
Are you passionate about Engineering and ready to take the next step in your academic journey? Ekurhuleni West TVET College (EWC) is now accepting second trimester applications for 2025, specifically for NATED Engineering programmes (N4 level). Applications are open from 01 April to 18 April 2025.
What’s on Offer for Trimester 2?
EWC is currently inviting applications for the following N4 Engineering Studies:
- N4: Electrical Engineering Studies
- N4: Engineering Studies Fault Finding
- N4: Mechanical Engineering Studies
These NATED courses are ideal for students who have completed their N3 qualifications and are ready to move on to the next level in their technical education.
Application Closing Date
18 April 2025 – Be sure to submit all required documents before the deadline.
Who Can Apply?
You qualify as a new applicant if:
- You are applying to Ekurhuleni West TVET College for the first time.
- You have never been enrolled at EWC before.
- You do not have a student number from any previous year.
Returning or existing students should follow a different application process (link provided below).
Application Process for New Students
There are two important steps to complete your application:
Step 1: Take the Placement Test
- All new students must complete a placement test before applying.

Required Documents for Online Application
Make sure you upload these recently certified documents (not older than 3 months):
- South African ID copy (or birth certificate if under 16)
- Latest academic results
- Proof of residence
- Parent/guardian ID (if under 18)
- Proof of income (if applying for NSFAS)
- Next of kin details

About NATED Programmes
NATED (National Accredited Technical Education Diploma) programmes are designed to blend theory with practical skills, helping students build a solid foundation for the workplace.
Programme Levels
- N1–N3: Foundation Engineering Courses
- N4–N6: Theory-based study leading to a National Diploma
- Practical Training: 18–24 months of work experience required to qualify for the diploma
Entry Requirements
- Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science (for Engineering)
- N3 Certificate or equivalent if applying for N4 level
Financial Assistance
If you require funding, NSFAS bursaries are available for eligible students. Be sure to upload the necessary supporting documents, such as:
- Proof of household income
- Parents’ or guardians’ ID copies
- Social grant confirmation (if applicable)
