The Gallagher Foundation is inviting students to apply for their Scholar Program for the 2024 academic. Interested students have until the 1st of March 2024 to submit their online applications.

About the Gallagher Foundation Scholarship

The scholarship's goal is to support young leaders who have the desire to bring prosperity and peace to their developing nation by helping them with their education. The Foundation supports the visions of young leaders to positively impact their developing countries through college/university scholarships and membership with a community of scholars and alumni who share the same commitments.  

FIELD OF STUDY

The bursary programme is open to students want to pursue an undergraduate qualification in the following fields:

• Architecture
• Business
• Education
• Engineering
• History
• Law
• Language
• Maths
• Philosophy
• Political Science
• Psychology
• Science
• Medicine
• Technology

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE GALLAGHER FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP 

To qualify for the Gallagher Foundation Scholarship you must meet the following requirements:

• Must be a South African citizen
• Must have completed matric OR in matric (class of 2023)
• Must be admitted/accepted to study at UCT (University of Cape Town)
• Must show academic excellence on the National Benchmark test in all competency areas
• Must be entering FIRST YEAR of study at UCT
• Must display evidence of leadership potential through involvement in leadership activities including, but not limited to special projects, Extracurricular activities and service work.
• Must demonstrate financial need 
• Must be intending to pursue an undergraduate degree in the above listed fields
• Must NOT be receiving funding from any other bursary provider (except for merit based awards)
• Must have applied for NSFAS funding

 GALLAGHER FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP COVERS:

• Tuition
• Books and supplies
• Allowance 
• Accommodation 
• Meals
• Transportation

GALLAGHER FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

• Letter of Recommendation from a teacher, mentor, guidance counsellor, athletic coach or employer
• Certified Matric certificate or statement
• Your Photograph 
• Parents or legal guardians proof of Income (recent payslip if working, affidavit if not working OR proof of social grant) 
• Acceptance letter from University of Cape Town 
• Proof of National Benchmark test scores
• You will be required to answer four short essays when applying.

CLOSING DATE:
