Hessequa Local Municipality Bursary
The Hessequa Local Municipality in partnership with the Provincial Treasury is inviting students to apply for their bursary program for the 2024 academic year. Applicants have until 31 January 2024 to submit their applications.

About the Hessequa Local Municipality Bursary
The aim of the Hessequa Local Municipality Bursary programme is to support students who are performing academically, have a real interest in uplifting and changing the community for the better and who shows the potential but do not have the financial means to study towards a degree. Students from historically disadvantaged groups and individuals with disabilities are encouraged to apply. Bursaries will be allocated for a period of one (1) year.
FIELD OF STUDY
The bursary programme is open to students who are pursuing or want to pursue an undergraduate qualification in the following fields:
- Finance
- Accounting
- Supply Chain Management
- Internal Audit
- Risk Management
- Economics
- Infrastructure
- Civil Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE HESSEQUA LOCAL MUNICIPALITY BURSARY
To qualify for the Hessequa Local Municipality Bursary you must meet the following requirements:
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must be between 17 and 35 years of age
- Must have completed Matric
- Must reside within the Hessequa Municipality area, in Western Cape.
- Must be studying/intend on studying in the above qualifications in 2024.
- Must be registered at a South African accredited higher education institution
- Must have a STRONG academic record.
- Must not be a beneficiary of any other funding including NSFAS
- Must demonstrate financial need
- Disabled students and students from previously disadvantaged groups are invited to apply
HESSEQUA LOCAL MUNICIPALITY BURSARY REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:
- Certified copy of matric certificate/statement
- Comprehensive CV
- Proof of registration at an accredited tertiary institution
- Certified copy of Identity Document (not older than 3 months)
- Proof of residential address (municipal account)
- Proof of income of both parents/guardians (latest payslips if employed and affidavit if unemployed etc)
- If disabled, a letter from a medical doctor confirming permanent disability

- Complete the application form and gather all the required documents.

The closing date for the Hessequa Local Municipality Bursary is on the 31st of January 2024. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
