About Ingquza Hill Local Municipality Bursary
Formerly known as Qaukeni Municipality, the Ingquza Hill Local Municipality is one of five local municipalities in the Eastern Cape that are governed by the OR Tambo District Municipality. The Ingquza Hill Local Municipality wants to create a strong basis for a prosperous and stable society by means of this bursary. This bursary program aims to alleviate the financial burden of tertiary education within the municipality.

The bursary programme is open to students who want to pursue OR are pursuing undergraduate qualification in the following fields:
- Civil and Building/ Electrical Engineering
- Financial Accounting (CA)
- Maritime Studies
- Town and Regional Planning
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE INGQUZA HILL LOCAL MUNICIPALITY BURSARY
To qualify for the Ingquza Hill Local Municipality Bursary you must meet the following requirements:
- Must be a South African citizen.
- Must be between the ages of 18 and 35 years old.
- Must be in financial need, with a household income of NOT more than R350 000
per annum. - Must be studying or have been accepted to study at a recognised and accredited University in South Africa
- Must be studying or intend on studying towards an undergraduate qualification within one of the fields of study listed above, in 2025.
- Must have been in Matric in 2024 or have completed Matric.
- Must meet the tertiary academic requirements of your chosen university.
- Must reside within the Ingquza Hill Local Municipality (Eastern Cape)
INGQUZA HILL LOCAL MUNICIPALITY BURSARY REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:
- Your certified ID Document
- Certified copy of Matric certificate
- Latest Grade 12 results
- Application letter (signed and marked for the attention of the Municipal Manager, with an official stamp by respective Ward Councillor)
- Proof of application/ acceptance/ provisional acceptance letter from accredited South African university
- Proof of registration if you are currently a university student
- Proof of residence
- Quotation of the university’s fee structure; including accommodation and prescribed textbook amounts.
- Parents or guardians proof of household income; latest payslips if employed, affidavit if unemployed OR proof of SASSA grant.
