What the Bursary Offers

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, you must:
- Be a resident of Lephalale Local Municipality
- Be a matriculant or a first-year undergraduate student intending to study in one of the listed fields
- Demonstrate consistent good academic performance
- Come from a household where parents/guardians are unemployed or classified as indigent
Be prepared to undergo a means test (a home visit to verify need) and, if shortlisted, psychometric assessments and an interview
Required Documents
Prepare a complete application package including:
- Completed Mayoral Bursary application form
- A letter of motivation
- Your latest academic results/statement
- Certified copies of your ID and your parents'/guardians' IDs
- Proof of parents'/guardians' income (payslip, affidavit if unemployed)
- Proof of residential address
- Proof of acceptance from a tertiary institution (required before final award)
