Requirements for the Sanlam Actuarial Bursary 2025
To be eligible for the Sanlam Actuarial Bursary, applicants must meet the following criteria:
For Undergraduate Studies (Current Students)
- Must be a South African citizen
- Full-time Actuarial Science student in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd year
- Strong academic performance with a will to succeed
- Provide full academic transcripts
For School-Leaving Learners (Matriculants)
- Must be a South African citizen
- Intending to study Actuarial Science in 2026
- Achieve a 90% or above in Mathematics with an overall A aggregate
- Provide Grade 11 final results and Grade 12 mid-year results (2025)
- Submit NBT results if available
Additional Criteria for All Applicants:
- Comprehensive CV with academic achievements, leadership skills, and extracurricular activities
- Motivational letter answering the following:
- What is an actuary?
- Why do you want to study actuarial science?
- Why do you believe you can succeed as an actuary?
- Why should Sanlam choose you?
- Alternative career paths if not successful as an actuary
