About the Siemens Bursary
The bursary's primary goal is to provide financial assistance to academically strong and previously underprivileged individuals who are pursuing higher education in vital and in-demand professions like engineering and technology. By investing in the education of future engineers and technologists, Siemens aims to contribute to the social and economic development of South Africa and other regions where they operate.
FIELD OF STUDY
The bursary programme is open to students who want to pursue/ pursuing undergraduate qualification in the following fields:
- BSc/B.Eng. Electrical Engineering (Heavy and Light Current)
- BSc/B.Eng. Electronic/Engineering
- Bachelor Of Engineering: Technology
- B.Eng. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (Mechatronics)
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SIEMENS BURSARY
To qualify for the Siemens Bursary you must meet the following requirements:
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must be between 18 and 25 years of age.
- Must have completed Matric OR in matric in 2023
- You must be unemployed (if completed matric)
- Must be studying OR intend to study within one of the above listed fields.
- Must have achieved a minimum of Level 5 in Maths, English and Physical Sciences
- Must be studying OR intend to study at a public university in South Africa.
- Must not be receiving any other funding including National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS).
- Must have achieved a minimum academic average of 65% and above in the year that you are applying for the bursary (Matric/tertiary)

- Motivation Letter
- Curriculum Vitae
- Acceptance Letter
- Certified ID Document
- Certified Matric Certificate
- Grade 11 Results and Grade 12 Trial Marks (If currently in matric)
- Full Tertiary Academic Record (if currently studying)

The deadline for the siemens bursary applications for the 2025 academic year is the 31st of January 2025. Late and incomplete applications will not be accepted.
