Steve Kearney Bursary Programme 2025
About the Steve Kearney Bursary:
The Steve Kearney Education Trust was founded to honour the significant contributions of Stephen Victor Kearney, who played a pivotal role in advancing the Royal Bafokeng Nation's interests, particularly in the mining sector. Stephen Victor Kearney was the first Chairman of Royal Bafokeng Resources.
His untimely passing in April 2004 led to the creation of this trust, dedicated to supporting historically disadvantaged South African (HDSA) students in their academic pursuits. This bursary programme aims to alleviate financial barriers by covering tertiary expenses.
Additionally, it fosters professional development through required vacation work and post-study service at Royal Bafokeng Holdings or a designated entity, ensuring that recipients gain practical experience and contribute to the community.
