The UKZN applications applications for the 2026 academic year are completed through the CAO platform. Here's how to apply at UKZN for 2026 through CAO:
- Visit the UKZN Online Application Portal
- Click on the "apply" tab
- Read the provided information and click on the "continue with application" tab
- Enter your ID number or your Cao number. then click on submit
- Click on the "continue with application" tab
- Enter All the information requested. Once you have entered all the information requested, click "Next"
- Write your next of kin details
- Enter your grade 11 results or your grade 12 results
- Choose the courses you want to apply for (you can choose up to 6 choices)
- Ensure that the provided information is true and correct
- Submit your CAO application
- After submitting your application that is when your documents will be required
- Upload your supporting documents and pay your application fee online OR pay at an EasyPay Outlet
UKZN application Fee for 2026 Online Applications
The UKZN (CAO) application fee for South African citizens IS R250-00 and for International applicants is R300-00. Once your application fee has been received, your application will be made available to the institutions to which you have applied.
CAO (Central Applications Office) application fee payment methods:

- Direct Deposit or EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer)

The University of Kwazulu Natal 2026 applications will open one the 1st of March 2025 and close on the 30th of September 2025. Late applications are usually accepted after the 30th of November but you will have to pay a late application fee of R470 for South African prospective students.
