Umgungundlovu TVET College Invites Matriculants to Apply for N4 Electrical Engineering for 2026
Umgungundlovu TVET College has extended an invitation to eligible matriculants to apply for its N4 Electrical Engineering and Solar Photovoltaic System (New Occupational Certificate) programmes at Northdale Campus, offering young people an opportunity to gain practical skills in two high-demand technical fields.
Umgungundlovu TVET College Late Applications 2026
The college announced that Northdale Campus will host an information and application support session aimed at assisting prospective students who are interested in enrolling for the 2026 academic year.
The session is scheduled to take place on 15 January 2026, from 08:00 to 14:00, at the Northdale Campus. During this session, applicants will receive guidance on programme requirements, documentation, and the application process.
Requirements
According to the notice, the programmes are open to matriculants who meet the minimum subject requirements. Applicants must have achieved at least 40% in Mathematics and 40% in Physical Science.
These subjects form the foundation of electrical and engineering studies and are essential for coping with the technical content of the N4 qualification.
In addition to academic requirements, prospective students must present an NSFAS reference number as proof that they have applied for funding for the 2026 academic year.
About N4 Electrical Engineering Programme
The N4 Electrical Engineering programme forms part of the National N-Diploma pathway, which combines theoretical learning with practical workplace experience.
Students who complete the N4 to N6 levels and the required practical training can qualify for a National Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
This pathway opens doors to careers in areas such as electrical installation, maintenance, power systems, and industrial electrical work.
About Solar Photovoltaic System Qualification
Meanwhile, the Solar Photovoltaic System qualification responds to South Africa’s growing need for renewable energy skills. With ongoing electricity supply challenges and an increasing shift towards sustainable energy solutions, training in solar energy installation and maintenance has become increasingly relevant.
Graduates with solar PV skills are in demand in both the private sector and community-based energy projects, particularly as households and businesses turn to alternative power sources.
Required Documents
Umgungundlovu TVET College has advised prospective students to attend the application support session with all required documentation to avoid delays.
These include:
Certified copies of the applicant’s ID
Parent or guardian’s ID
Proof of residence for both the applicant and the parent or guardian
Certified matric results, either a statement of results or a matric certificate.
