Follow the steps below to apply at UNISA for 2026:

  3. You will be asked if you have student number or not
  4. Fill in your personal details. (If you already have a student number you will be required to enter your personal details and your student number)
  5. Select the two courses you want to apply for (make sure that you qualify for these courses) If you don't qualify the system will not allow you to continue with the application. 
  6. Continue with the application and fill in your home and postal address. This is important since Unisa is a distant learning institution and they will require your address to deliver study materials.
  7. upload all the required documents. NB those applying for social work should submit a police clearance and two testimonials. Those applying for Diploma in Grade R should submit a proof of employment since the grade R applicants should be Grade R teachers in primary school or Creche. 
  8. Submit your application. You will receive an acknowledgement of your application. Make sure that you note down your student number.
  9. Go to your nearest FNB branch and pay your application fee or you can  use your Capitec app to pay the application fee.

Application Fee: A non-refundable application fee of R140 applies to all online applications. Payments can be made using the student number and the reference number provided.

Admission Decision: Admission is subject to meeting the qualification-specific requirements and available space.
