3 March 2025 – Applications opened
1 April 2025 – Residence applications will open
30 June 2025 – Closing date for:
Faculty of Health Sciences (all courses)
Bachelor of Architectural Studies
Bachelor of Audiology
Bachelor of Speech-Language Pathology
BA Film and Television
30 September 2025 – Closing date for all other University courses and residence applications
Overview of Faculties and Courses Offered at WITS
WITS offers a diverse range of courses across multiple faculties. For a full list of courses and their admission requirements, check on the WITS 2026 Prospectus.
You can apply for a maximum of three courses (order of choice does not matter).
Make sure you meet the admission requirements for your chosen degree.
Use your full legal name as it appears on your ID or passport.
If applying for two courses within one faculty, it is advisable to choose an additional course in a less restricted faculty (e.g., Humanities, Commerce, or Science).
Apply before the closing date to avoid missing out on your preferred course.
Step 2: Pay the Application Fee & Upload Supporting Documents

International applicants: R700

Log into the self-service portal and navigate to the Campus Finances section.

Required Supporting Documents:
Current Matric Learners: Final Grade 11 results (signed and stamped by your school principal).
Matriculated Applicants: Certified copies of your Matric certificate or foreign school-leaving certificate.
Tertiary Education Applicants: Certified copies of academic records from all tertiary institutions attended (even if the qualification was not completed).
Step 3: Application Acknowledgement
Once you submit your application, WITS will send an acknowledgment email with your person number (which will become your student number). This email will also include contact details for an Admissions Consultant, who can assist with any queries.
Before submitting your application, ensure you have:
Chosen up to three courses
Paid the application fee
Uploaded all supporting documents
Met the APS and subject requirements
Checked for additional selection procedures (e.g., portfolios, auditions, or NBTs)
