Wits University Firm Offers Are Now Live
The University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) has officially released firm offers to prospective students, marking a major milestone in the 2026 academic year admissions process. If you applied to study at one of South Africa’s leading universities, now is the time to check your application status and take the next crucial steps.
Receiving a firm offer is exciting — but it’s also time-sensitive. Acting quickly is essential to secure your place.
What Is a Firm Offer?
A firm offer means Wits has assessed your application and officially offered you a place in your chosen qualification. This is not a provisional decision — it’s a confirmed offer of admission.
However, your place is not secured until you formally accept the offer and complete the required registration steps within the given deadline.
How You’ll Receive Your Firm Offer
If you are made a firm offer, Wits will contact you through the following channels:
- An SMS notification
- A firm offer letter sent to your email address
Make sure the contact details you used in your application are correct and regularly check both your inbox and spam folder.
How to Accept Your Wits Firm Offer
The acceptance process is straightforward but must be completed before the deadline stated in your offer letter.
1. Log in to the Wits Self-Service Portal
