About TUT

Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) is one of the largest residential universities in South Africa, with a student population of over 60 000. Formed through the merger of three technikons — Technikon Northern Gauteng, Technikon North-West, and Technikon Pretoria — TUT has grown into a multi-campus institution with a national footprint spanning Gauteng, Limpopo, and Mpumalanga. TUT is committed to producing graduates who are practically oriented, innovative, and ready to contribute meaningfully to the economy and society. The university offers programmes across the arts, sciences, engineering, health, humanities, ICT, and management sciences, all aligned with the National Qualifications Framework. The university operates from several campuses including Pretoria, Arcadia, GaRankuwa, Soshanguve South, Soshanguve North, eMalahleni, Polokwane, and Mbombela, making higher education accessible to students across diverse communities. TUT is particularly known for its strong focus on applied and vocational education. As a University of Technology, TUT bridges the gap between academic theory and workplace practice, equipping students with relevant technical, professional, and entrepreneurial skills demanded by industry and commerce.
