About This Programme

A diploma preparing graduates for careers as accounting technicians, bookkeepers and cost accountants.

Admission Requirements
Minimum APS score of 22 (excluding Life Orientation)

Required Subjects NSC levels

  • English 4 50–59%
One of the following
  • Mathematics 3 40–49%
  • Technical Mathematics 3 40–49%
  • Mathematical Literacy 5 60–69%

Additional Requirements

  • APS 22 with Maths/Tech Maths OR 24 with Mathematical Literacy
  • Students with diploma endorsement who do not meet specific entry requirements may gain access via Programme in Commercial Accounting

Life Orientation is excluded from the APS / score calculation.

Life Orientation is NOT included in the APS calculation. Students in the College of Business and Economics who have diploma endorsement but do not meet specific diploma entry requirements may obtain access to diploma studies in Accountancy through the Programme in Commercial Accounting, completing all prescribed modules within the first year of registration.
