About This Programme

The BEd Intermediate Phase prepares teachers to teach Grades 4 to 6, with specialisation in at least two curriculum subjects from Mathematics, Technology, Languages, or Natural Sciences.

Admission Requirements

Required Subjects

  • English Home Language or First Additional Language 4 50–59%
  • Life Orientation 4 50–59%
  • Two specialisation subjects (e.g. Mathematics, Information Technology, Natural Sciences) 5 60–69%

Additional Requirements

  • No applications considered after the 30 September closing date
Level 5 required in two of: Mathematics, Mathematical Literacy, Information Technology, Electrical Technology, Mechanical Technology, Computer Application Technology, Agricultural Technology, Civil Technology, Engineering Graphics & Design, or any other NSC subject. Matric Exemption: 32.
