About This Programme

The Extended Programme spreads the engineering degree over five years to accommodate students who meet the requirements but need additional academic support in the foundational year.

Admission Requirements

Required Subjects

  • Mathematics 4 50–59%
  • Physical Sciences 4 50–59%
  • English Home Language or First Additional Language 4 50–59%
  • Life Orientation 4 50–59%

Additional Requirements

  • Students who previously attended UKZN or any other tertiary institution for a complete semester are not eligible.
NSC Degree pass with English, Mathematics, Physical Sciences and Life Orientation 4.
