About This Programme

A six-year professional veterinary science degree, the only such programme in South Africa, preparing veterinarians for private practice, state services, research, and wildlife management.

Admission Requirements

Required Subjects

  • English Home Language or English First Additional Language 5 60–69%
  • Mathematics 5 60–69%
  • Physical Sciences 5 60–69%

Additional Requirements

  • Selection is based on Merit Point Score (MPS).
  • School-leaving applicants are conditionally selected based on Grade 11 results.
  • Mathematical Literacy and Technical Mathematics are NOT accepted.
  • Applicants with GED and School of Tomorrow qualifications will not be considered.
Application closing date is 31 May. Only Mathematics is accepted (not Mathematical Literacy or Technical Mathematics). Selection categories include school leavers and transferring students.
