Requirements of Available Courses for 2025 Late Applications at MUT

Before applying, make sure you meet the minimum admission requirements for the engineering courses available at Mangosuthu University of Technology (MUT). These are the general requirements:

• Applicants must hold a valid NSC or equivalent qualification.
• Applicants must meet minimum admission requirements of the course they want to apply for
• Applicants must meet the required admission point score 
• Applicants need to have passed with a diploma endorsement in matric
• Applicants need to have a diploma qualification in order to apply for advanced diploma 

NB: Make sure you get hold of the MUT prospectus to check specific requirements of the available engineering courses for 2025. Remember to gather these documents for your application at MUT:

• Certified copy of your ID or passport.
• Certified copy of your matric certificate or equivalent qualification.
• Any other documents specified in the course requirements.

Here's how you can apply at MUT for available courses for 2025

All first year applications are submitted through the Central Applications Office (CAO). This is a simplified way of applying for more than one programme and at different institutions, using one application form and paying a single application fee. Follow the easy steps below to apply at MUT through CAO for 2025:

Step 1: Visit the CAO website: www.cao.ac.za 

Step 2: Click on the "apply" tab

Step 3: Read the information and click on the "continue with application" tab

Step 4:  Enter your ID number or your Cao number. then click on submit 

Step 5: Click on the "continue with application" tab

Step 6: Enter All the information requested. Once you have entered all the information requested, click 'Next'

Step 7: A pop-up will appear with your CAO Number, Password and EasyPay Number.

The same information will also be sent to the email address you provided. This information is important in case you want to access your information at a later date.

PLEASE NOTE: YOU HAVE NOT YET COMPLETED YOUR APPLICATION

Step 8: Click 'Continue with Online Application'

Step 9: Capture your next of kin details 

Step 10: Enter your grade 11 results or your grade 12 results 

Step 11: Choose the courses you want to apply for (you can choose up to 6 choices) 

Step 12: Check the information provided in the Summary of your application

Step 13: Click the 'Process My Application’ button at the end of the page

YOUR APPLICATION HAS NOW BEEN SUBMITTED

A message will be displayed on screen informing you that your submission has been successful

Step 14:  You can now upload your supporting documents and pay your application fee online OR pay at an EasyPay Outlet

Late Administration fee payable for South African citizens R470-00 & International applicants R580-00

Once your Administration fee has been received, your application will be made available to the institutions to which you have applied
