Is 21 aps score good?
Generally an aps score of 21 is considered to be a satisfactory score. It is the minimum requirement for admission to many higher certificate and diploma courses at universities in South Africa. With an aps of 21 you can apply for higher certificate, diploma and bachelor courses but this aps may be limiting if you want to study courses such as teaching, social work, law, nursing, engineering and medicine.
Truth is, many universities will accept students who have an APS that is higher than the minimum. This is because universities are looking for students who are academically strong and who are likely to succeed in their studies. Consider upgrading or rewriting your matric to stand a better chance of being accepted in majority of universities.
Remember, with a 21 APS, you have a strong foundation to pursue a variety of career paths. Research thoroughly, identify your interests, and don't hesitate to contact the universities directly for any clarification. There are 26 public universities in South Africa, surely you will find a career that interests you.
