When Do Late Applications Open at TVET Colleges?
Late applications for the 2026 academic year are open from 05 January 2026 and close 31 January 2026. This period is intended for students who missed the main application window or are still finalising their study plans after receiving their matric results.
It is important to note that there is no single national late application date for all TVET colleges. Each public TVET college in South Africa has the authority to set its own late application opening and closing dates, based on factors such as available space, programme demand, and lecturer capacity.
How to Apply for Late Applications at TVET Colleges in 2026
To apply successfully during late application periods at TVET Colleges, you must:
- Check which form of applications are accepted (Walk in or Online)
- If Walk ins are allowed make copies of your document and certify them at your nearest police station. Take the certified documents and visit the campus to apply. Make sure you visit the campus before the closing date.
- If you are applying online ensure that you have certified and scanned documents, ensure you have internet access and you qualify for the courses you intend to apply for.
- Always follow the instructions provided by the TVET college of your choice
- Arrive early if applications are done on campus
- Apply fast as late applications are competitive, and spaces can close within days.
