Mangosuthu University of Technology (MUT) has officially announced its 2026 registration schedule, along with clear guidelines on how students should complete the process. All students are encouraged to read the information carefully to avoid delays or complications during registration.

 

No Walk-In Applications Allowed

MUT has reiterated that walk-in applications are not allowed under any circumstances.
All applications must be submitted through the Central Applications Office (CAO). Applicants should regularly check their application status on www.cao.ac.za.

 

Important MUT Registration Dates for 2026

Registration Commencement

  • First-Time Entering Students (FTENs):
    Monday, 19 January 2026
  • Returning Students:
    Monday, 26 January 2026

Registration Periods

  • Annual & First Semester Registration:
    19 January โ€“ 30 January 2026
  • First Semester Late Registration:
    02 February โ€“ 06 February 2026
  • Second Semester Registration:
    13 July โ€“ 17 July 2026
  • Second Semester Late Registration:
    20 July โ€“ 24 July 2026

Students are strongly advised to register within the official dates to avoid late registration penalties.

  • Regularly check your email and SMS for registration updates.
  • MUT understands that many students may be registering online for the first time.

Step-by-Step Guide: How to Register Online at MUT

Follow all the steps below carefully to complete your registration successfully.

Online Registration Steps

  1. Visit www.mut.ac.za
  2. Click on Student Portal
  3. Select Student iEnabler
  4. Click on Student
  5. Enter your student number
  6. Enter your PIN
  7. Use your current PIN, or the default PIN 46579 if it has not been changed
  8. Click Login
  9. On the left-hand menu, click Registration
  10. Select Rules and Regulations
  11. Scroll down and click I Accept
  12. Click Submit Registration
  13. Select your Employment Status and choose UNEMPLOYED
  14. Click Save and Continue
  15. Select all eligible subjects by ticking the checkboxes
  16. Click Save and Continue
  17. Click Continue
  18. Click Accept Registration
    โœ… Registration is now complete
  19. Click Proof of Registration on the left-hand menu
  20. Print or save your registration status
  21. Student card activation will be done on campus

Important: All 20 steps must be completed for you to be fully registered as a MUT student.
